Leading the Energy Transition
CEC Renewables is committed to advancing Zambia’s energy transition by spearheading the development of renewable energy infrastructure, with a primary focus on Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage technologies.
The Company aligns its strategy with the Zambia National Energy Plan, positioning itself as a key player in the national decarbonisation efforts. Through projects like the 34-megawatt (MW) Riverside Solar Plant (RSP) 60 MW Itimpi Solar Plant (ISP) 1 and the upcoming 126 MW ISP 2, CEC Renewables is steadily increasing its capacity to provide clean, affordable energy while supporting the country’s broader energy mix goals. The company also leverages the expertise of its parent company to ensure operational excellence and sustainable growth.
CEC Renewables has achieved significant milestones, including the completion of the Riverside Solar Power project and the registration of a USD 200 million Green Bond—the first in Zambia. With a dedicated management team and a clear strategic vision, CEC Renewables has laid a strong foundation for capitalising on both financial and environmental opportunities.
CEC Renewables is focused on attaining over 300 MW of solar energy generation by 2027. Driven by its ambitions, the Company is well-positioned to explore new opportunities, including participation in voluntary carbon markets and expansion of its renewable energy portfolio to grow sustainably and contribute meaningfully to Zambia’s renewable energy landscape.
